Positive Thinking = Better Health

This has been a trying year for many of us, but thinking of what ‘was’ won’t get you a seat in the park.  The best that we can do is to remember the lesson that should have been learned.  If we keep on dwelling on the past, that is where we will probably stay as opposed to moving forward and experiencing and learning new things.

Recently, I read the following, “Whatever your problem or challenge may be, laugh at it. Laugh long and hard. Because you are forever and it is temporary.”  OK, so we are not really forever on this earth, but the reality of it is that this rings so true! It’s a matter of perspective! Our outlook portends our future and destiny!!  If you think negative thoughts, you’re outcome will mostly be negativity.  Conversely, if you have a positive outlook this can help reduce stress by eliminating, what some call, negative self-talk.  As you can see, our outlook, whether positive or negative, may affect our health.

The health benefits of positivity could include a longer life span and better psychological and physical well being possibly leading to better resistance to the common cold and lower rates of distress and depression.

Now this doesn’t mean that we ignore the unpleasantries of life.  They are going to be there.  That is just a part of life and living.  But our outlook and how we handle them is the difference.  If you have a more positive outlook you will handle these unpleasantries in a more productive way, and most likely again, with less stress!

The long and short of it is that we create our own destinies.  Yes, there are outside influences, but it is only us who hold the reigns and ultimately have the control.  Our outlook and attitude will guide the paths that we take.  This transcends all aspects of our lives.

While putting this together I read a post on Facebook and it led me to this post, 30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself.   It started, “As Maria Robinson once said, “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”  Some pretty awesome and powerful stuff, yet quite simplistic as well.  I’m checking out some of their other posts as well.

With that said, have an awesomely, powerful New Year!!  It’s all up to us!!

Till next time….Marc It Sold!
